An update provided by the Voice of the Fans representatives following their first few months since the group was inaugurated...
Three of the four members of the Voice of the Fans initiative met at the Attis Arena for the first time on 21st August 2025 in an introductory meeting with the Owners, Matt Roberts, James Moody and Andy Butler. A really good opening meeting where after introductions there was a very open discussion on various topics: Lines of communication; consultation on the club crest; Charter of operations between the Club and the Voice of the Fans Group; stadium improvements and plans for future meetings.
An immediate follow up to the opening meeting was the establishment of a Voice of the Fans Whatsapp group for the four members and James Moody; plus an outlook email zone to enable all SUFC fans to contact the Members with queries to be pursued with the club; voice@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.
Numerous fan queries have been received via the email zone and attended to by the Voice of the Fans members (VoFs) and the club with a brief summary of these below. An ongoing Log/Action List, is maintained to keep abreast of all queries and responses.
Of the email queries received to date in the Voice of the Fans Mailbox, 50% have been related to Stadium issues; 30% on Club Policy; 10% Finance and 10% Supporter Clubs. All emails were acknowledged promptly by the Voice of the Fans representatives. A number of the queries were referred to the relevant parties at the Club for comment, and any queries outstanding form part of the Agenda for meetings held with Board representatives.
The four VoFs are in regular contact with each other via the Whatsapp group and held our first meeting on 29th September 2025 where subject matter included: Arranging match day fan interaction with the VoFs; establishing a Newsletter; setting meeting and governance admin for VoFs and the Club Owners and management; finalising the Charter; progress update on club crest; and developing a Voice of the Fans Logo.
A second VoFs meeting was held on 28th October 2025 which addressed tidying up communication channels with the Club; Newsletter/web page on Club website; social media presence, Club crest; Community events.
The VoFs are communicating really well, there is a good mix of personnel representing the wider SUFC fan base and we have the next VoFs meet scheduled for end of November with monthly meetings thereafter.
The VOFs held a meeting with representatives from Club Board and management on 17th November 2025. A very useful collaborative meeting which addressed: future regular meetings with Board attendance ;VoFs expanded communications with the Club; addressed outstanding queries raised by the Fans via VoF email address; development of website page and social media presence; Club crest; and Community events.
