Scunthorpe United will travel to face National League North side Spennymoor Town as part of their National League preparations, with the fixture taking place on Saturday, July 26th (3pm kick-off).

Andy Butler’s side finish off pre-season with a duo of trips against Step Two sides, with the Brewery Field proving to be a tricky place to go over the Iron’s two campaigns at the level, with the home side winning on both occasions.

While the two encounters at the Attis Arena ended in comfortable victories for United, first beating the side 6-0 in October 2023 before a recent 2-0 win in April, the side found it difficult to get a result in the north-east in the recent league campaigns, first losing 1-0 in March 2024 in a controversy-ridden encounter before the Moors also won last season’s league fixture in November 2024 3-2 - the winning goal again proving to be a controversial moment.

The match against Graeme Lee’s side comes two weeks prior to the commencement of the season, and will provide a stern test for Butler’s side as the start of the 2025-26 season nears.
