Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the retention of central defender Andrew Boyce for the 2025-26 National League season.

The 34-year-old who’s currently in his second spell in claret and blue, joined the Iron originally in 2014 from neighbours Lincoln City. In his first stint he made 37 appearances for United which included 33 in our 2014-15 League One campaign.

Since his return from Eastleigh in 2022, Boyce has surpassed 100 appearances for United and has earnt himself a spot on Scunthorpe’s infamous Hall of Fame. His 40 league appearances during last year’s National League North promotion campaign further proved that the experienced centre-half is more than capable of stepping up when called upon by manager Andy Butler.

A huge influence in the dressing room and a valuble piece in the squad’s leadership puzzle, the club’s current Vice Captain will be looking to repay his new deal with another consistent campaign at National League level.

“I’m delighted to be staying for another year; I think everybody that knows me knew how badly I wanted to sign so when the contract offer came my way it didn’t take long for me to sign it," he stated.

“I’m not signing another year just to be here, I’m signing another year to play and don’t get me wrong if I get a strong pre-season under my belt I’ll be hoping to start games.”
