Scunthorpe United will begin their round of fixtures in pre-season by visiting local side Bottesford Town at the Barrett Steel Stadium on Friday, July 4th, 7pm kick-off.

In what will be Andy Butler’s side’s first outing of pre-season, it is likely to be an opportunity for his squad to experience 45 minutes of football each a mere few days after returning to full training.

The two sides met later in pre-season last season, with United coming from behind to record a comprehensive 6-1 victory on the night. Luke Ayris had put the hosts ahead before Max Kouogun equalised just before the interval. In the second half, it was all Scunthorpe, with Carlton Ubaezuonu (two), Danny Whitehall, Aaron Braithwaite and Sam Fishburn all finding the goal in the second 45 minutes.

Prior to last season, the two sides clashed in a different form, as the Iron sent their academy side to open pre-season in 2022. That game resulted in a 4-2 win for United, with the goals scored by Tyrell Sellars-Fleming (three) and Grayson Giles.

Tickets will be £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, with advance and on the night sales available. You can purchase in advance by clicking here.
