The Iron is delighted to announce the new signing of attacker Mo Fadera who joins the club from York City on a loan basis for an initial month.

Born in Gambia, Fadera linked up with the Minstermen in the summer of 2024 having thrived against Adam Hinshelwood’s side for previous club Garforth Town in a pre-season friendly.

Since joining York, Fadera has appeared predominantly off the bench and has impressed supporters with his attitude, desire and lightning quick pace. Ultimately it was those key factors that drew York to the talented 19-year-old in the first place and both clubs see this loan deal as an opportunity for the forward to gain valuable minutes.

Fadera originally started out playing grassroots football with Hamilton Panthers, before joining Garforth in the summer and immediately attracting interest. After being initially loaned out to the struggling Farsley Celtic in December he would return soon after and make his first start for his parent club earlier this month when he was selected to start City’s FA Trophy defeat at Gainsborough Trinity.

Mo has been handed the number 27 jersey and goes straight into contention for tomorrow's encounter at Chorley.
