After an emphatic 5-0 victory in our FA Cup replay at home against Newcastle Town, the Iron travel to face Scarborough Athletic in front of a sold out away end.

Last time out in the league the Iron were subjected to a 1-1 draw at home to Warrington Town, conceding just for the second time in the league. Our opponents have gone four games without a victory, after starting off their league campaign with an impressive 10 points taken from a possible 12, getting back to winning ways will be seen as an essential for the Seadogs.

Last season the Iron were unbeaten home and away against our opponents, the more memorable fixture for United was the 4-1 victory at the Attis Arena towards the start of last season which saw Finley Shrimpton, Cameron Wilson and Danny Elliott get on the scoresheet and an own goal to make it four, before a consolation goal for the visitors courtesy of Lewis Maloney. In the reverse fixture the Iron travelled to Scarborough in numbers, but were halted to a tight 0-0 draw.

A key player for Scarborough this season thus far has been attacker Domonic Tear. The 24-year-old, signed for the Seadogs at the start of the 2022-23 season, and has netted five goals this season and bagged a hat-trick on the opening day of the season. He will be looking to add to his account to get Scarborough back to winning ways.

As both teams have points to prove trying to get back to winning ways in the league, the Iron will be hoping to get the all important valuable three points in front of a sold out Scunthorpe crowd.
