The Iron are back in action at the Attis Arena as they look to get back to winning ways after being defeated in the league against Scarborough and then being knocked out of the FA Cup against Guiseley.

As the Iron look to bounce back from the two defeats suffered, three points would keep the Iron three points clear top of the table and would leave United with 23 points taken from a possible 30.

Oxford have had a tough start to the season, after suffering relegation from the National League last season. Their start to the season has not been the start they would have been hoping for.

The Hoops are currently sitting 23rd and have taken just six points this season, having won just one game and drawn three. Oxford City, although not the most in form side, pose a number of threats, particularly through some key players.

Josh Parker

An experienced forward, Parker who came through the Queens Park Rangers youth system, has hit form now for Oxford with two goals in his last three games. His physical presence and hold-up play make him a focal point in Oxford’s attack.

Zac McEachran

McEachran has scored two in his last two and is looking to catch the Iron by surprise. The 28-year-old can provide incisive passes to split defences, and this season has shown his goal scoring prowess. His vision and technical ability make him a constant threat in the final third.

Corie Andrews

27-year-old forward, Corie Andrews is a dangerous player with his pace and a direct approach, Andrews is dangerous on the wing. He can take on defenders and deliver dangerous balls into the box, creating opportunities for teammates. Andrews started the season strong and has got two goals this season. Corie Andrews is just one of the array of dangerous attackers who can cause the Iron’s defence some trouble.

Scunthorpe’s defence will need to stay compact and avoid leaving gaps that players like McEachran can exploit. Butlers’ side have been strong defensively this season with just three goals conceded in the league, the best defensive record in the league.
