United have had two cup games since the last match in the league, which saw them eliminated from the FA Trophy last week to Warrington Rylands last Saturday, but the Iron managed to get a mid week redemption, after a 3-1 victory in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup Quarter Final over bitter rivals Grimsby Town behind-closed-doors.

The Iron have been drawn against Spalding United in the semi-final, who are managed by ex-manager Jimmy Dean. The Iron are back on the road in the league looking to get back to winning ways in the league for a first three points since a 6-0 victory against Farsley Celtic.

After getting promoted from the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Leamington have adjusted well to life in the National League North as they sit in 13th place, just three points behind the last play-off spot. Leamington pose a real threat to the Iron, as they have built a home advantage this season that has seen them stay undefeated at home in the league winning five and drawing two of the seven fixtures they have played this season.

Away form has been a struggle for our opponents as they have picked up just one win, three draws and five losses, which balances out the great home form leaving them in mid-table, but with the game being played at home for Leamington, their 12th man will be looking to push them on.

The Brakes have a couple of dangerous players who can hurt the Iron. Top scorer 22-year-old striker Callum Stewart, is one of them with 11 goals and an assist in 16 appearances this season. He grabbed himself a goal last time out in the FA Trophy, scoring in less than a minute into their 2-1 victory over King’s Lynn Town.

In our opponents' last two league games they have been defeated 2-1 on the road to Chorley and Radcliffe, but attacker Henry Landers bagged a goal in each game to get his first two goals of the season. He has two goals and two assists for the campaign, and this recent form may push the 24-year-old to further his account this season for the Brakes, against the Iron.

As the Iron sit in fourth place, three points could put them top of the league on goal difference if results go the right way. Leamington’s strong form at home makes them a difficult opponent, and with a big home crowd expected great character is needed from Andy Butler's side to get all three points.
