The Iron are back in action on the road, after a two-week break since our last result, a goalless draw at home to Alfreton Town.

United will be hoping to have recharged their batteries as they head to Merseyside looking to pick up all three points against relegation candidates Marine.

In the reverse fixture at the Attis Arena, the Iron enjoyed a 3-0 home triumph in the first home game of the season, Andrew Boyce got the opener four minutes before half-time. Goals from Danny Whitehall and Sam Fishburn just nine minutes apart in the final 15 minutes of play sealed the victory, and a similar result would be more than ideal for United.

Marine have had a tough opening to the season, with just four victories picked up from their 20 games played this season. Three of their four wins this season have been on home soil, with their home form this season being three wins four draws and four losses, and have made the Marine Travel Arena a tough stadium to visit this season with just 10 goals conceded in their 11 home games.

A key player for our opposition is 24-year-old winger is Finlay Sinclair-Smith. The attacker has four goal involvements so far this season, with two goals and two assists. After joining in the summer from Radcliffe, Sinclair-Smith has been pivotal so far and has made 17 of Marine’s 20 appearances in the league, and netted both his goals this season in their last two wins against Chorley and Needham Market, and will be looking to help make the difference once again, this time against the Iron as he looks to steer his team away from the relegation zone.

In the last few games, United have been defensively resolute with three clean sheets in the last three games, thanks to important saves and blocks from Ross Fitzsimons and the defence. The Iron will be hoping to get back to top goal scoring form to end the two game streak of goalless draws, the return from injury for Cal Roberts is a huge boost as our top scorer will be looking to climb the Iron back up the table.
