The defender began by talking about Saturday’s defeat: "It’s very disappointing, especially as a defence concerning four goals and the manner that we conceded them. We need to dust ourselves down and we have to go again, there’s no other option.
There’s another big game Tuesday, so we put that in the past, and look forward to the game and getting the three points."
The Iron’s have had a tough run in, but their next seven games predominantly feature teams in and around them in the table, and Ben reflected on this schedule: "Since I came in, we’ve beat some good teams like Dagenham, Wealdstone, and Altrincham."
"We’ve had some tough games and got results against teams that people wouldn’t expect us to beat. It’s going to be interesting now we have teams that are in and around us and in the same position as us. We can really put our stamp on it, get the three points, and get us out of this position."
He continued to talk about the importance of the next seven games: "I think we need to take our home form and take it into the away games. We look very good at home and hopefully we can try and find a bit of form away now.
"There are no easy games in this league so we know what to expect. We’ve done our homework on them and the gaffer has told us what he expects. All the lads are pulling in the same direction and we’re ready for another cup final tomorrow night."
Richards-Everton believes the team have to emulate the performance that they put in against Wealdstone: "We have to put that performance behind us it’s been a blip. We’ve got a make sure that doesn’t happen again and go into these games with full belief that we’re going to get three points. That’s the mentality we need now."
The defender then spoke about tomorrows opponents York City, who also suffered defeat to a top side at the weekend: "Wrexham and Notts County are the two best teams in the league. It’s always going to be a tough place to go as we saw on the weekend. Our focus is now on York, we can’t focus too much on other teams and whatever happens is out of our control, all we can control is what we do."
Finally, he spoke about the fans continued support: "The support has been absolutely incredible and long may that continue. Hopefully, we can give them something to cheer about. We all know it wasn’t good enough on Saturday, and as players we owe it to the fans, and hopefully they’ll go home happy tomorrow night."
