Cameron Wilson signs new contract with the Iron

26 June 2023

Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce attacker Cameron Wilson has penned a new one-year deal with the club.

Signing his first professional deal with the club in May 2021, Wilson joined the club at Under-11s level in 2013 from Goole Town Tigers, a local team in his hometown.

He made his professional debut for the club on the opening day of the 2021-22 season as a 77th minute substitute. He made five appearances that month for the club before spending some time out on loan at Northern Premier League side Scarborough where he'd make 17 appearances.

Recalled in April 2022, Wilson played five games for Scunthorpe towards the end of the season, including scoring his first professional goal in the 1-1 draw against Hartlepool United.

Last season, he made a total of 33 appearances in the National League for United, scoring five goals across the season. Among the strikes was the winner away at Halifax live on BT Sport and a brace in a 4-1 home win over Wealdstone.

The 20-year-old returned to pre-season training on Monday, along with the rest of the squad.
