Revealing how long the move had been in the pipeline for, he started by saying: “Just over a week or so, sorting it out, finding the right fit, and I thought Scunthorpe was that fit. I’m really excited to be here.”
The 19-year-old admitted other clubs were also interested and speaking to him, stating: “I’ve had a few different places where I’ve been sitting down and talking to people but I felt like this was the right place to go.”
With four League One appearances, and a single appearance in both the Carabao Cup and Papa Johns Trophy respectively, Marsh is ready for the fight ahead and will need no fitness boosts before appearing with the Iron.
“I’ve featured quite a bit for Barnsley at the start of this season – I’m going to take that experience and bring it here to Scunthorpe to help these lads out," he said.
Touching on his experiences with the lads in training so far, he said: “They’ve been good, I’ve been getting in on all the banter and when we get out onto the training field and it’s business time you start to bring your personality into stuff and really get going."
Talking about the games ahead, he said: “I’ll bring hard work, push other people as well and be a big voice. I’m quite a reserved character off the field but when I step over that white line I’m a leader.
“I’m quite a nippy forward, I like to play on the backline of defences, and I’d say my left foot shot is pretty powerful so hopefully we’ll be seeing a lot of that."
“I can play anywhere across the front, I do prefer to playing in a two, but I’ll do a job anywhere,” he added, regarding his preferred position.
Finishing off with his aims, Marsh said: “I want to get as many points on the board for Scunthorpe, score and create as many goals as I can."
