Born in Goole, he started his career in the youth team at the club, he'd move onto Liverpool in 1967, before signing for Rotherham United a year later. He'd make six appearances for the Millers before making four for Mansfield Town in the following season.
In 1969-70, he'd feature 16 times for Workington before a short stint at Hartlepool before a successful two campaigns at Wigan Athletic where he scored nine goals in 69 appearances.
He would move to Altrincham in 1972 for a season before two years at Scarborough, where he finished his career.
