Playing with 10 men for almost an hour following Luke Matheson's red card for two bookable offences, a controversial moment in which the 11-man U's equalised after a handball prior to the goal changed the course of the game.
Feeney said: "I thought we were on top in the first half and deservedly took the lead. Obviously the red card was a little bit harsh but it changes the dynamic of the game, and there was a definite handball in the lead-up to their first goal, which again changes the flow of the match.
"We could all see it was handball, and obviously I can't say too much on it, but those decisions can have a big impact at times.
"We were obviously disappointed to concede the goals that we did, but it's always tough with ten men. We created some decent situations and probably should have scored a couple more ourselves, including myself with a header. We had some chances where we could have made it really uncomfortable for them in the last five minutes.
"I thought there was great fight shown, some good play as well, with Ty (Tyrese Sinclair) doing excellently when he came on and giving us a real impetus. It's always going to be tough with ten men though and we were devastated we couldn't take more from the game."
"We've got to kick on and go again on Tuesday now (against Barrow)," he concluded.
