Scunthorpe United can confirm the club has decided to postpone the release of its third kit until the 2022-23 season.
This decision has been made to give fans the benefit of the kit for a full season as the time frame of the reproduction of the strip would only give fans, and the team, the last quarter of this season to wear it.
Supporters who pre-ordered the shirt are still able to collect one of the third shirts delivered by Macron that did not contain all of the supporter names from the club shop, as well as receiving a further shirt at the start of the 2022-23 season. Many supporters have already claimed the incorrect version of the shirt, however those who are yet to claim the shirt have until January 31st before the remaining shirts in stock will be made available for retail at £10 each.
Having taken delivery of the 2021/22 third shirt featuring supporter names in November, upon inspection of the final product it became apparent that a quantity of surnames from the list that had been sent to Macron had not been sublimated into the shirt. The club reported the problem and Macron took full responsibility for the error, issuing an apology which can be read here.
After the deadline of January 31st, supporters who pre-ordered the shirts will still be able to claim their incorrect shirt, however no guarantee can be made that the size initially pre-ordered will be available.
Those who have pre-ordered the shirt and are yet to claim the incorrect version should contact firstname.lastname@example.org with their order number for further details.
The fans who have sponsored players' third kits this season will be contacted by our commercial department in due course.
