Alan Young will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away league clash against Salford City on Saturday.
The Cambridgeshire-based official will travel to the Peninsula Stadium for his 24th game of the campaign and ninth in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is Young's third in the EFL.
His first game of the campaign was in the Carabao Cup as he oversaw Cheltenham Town's 1-0 away win at League One side Peterborough United. In the game he issued two cautions. His latest encounter came in midweek and coincidentally involved the Posh again. This time is was their goalless away draw at Oxford United when he also showed two yellow cards.
Hicks has taken charge of just one previous Iron competitive fixture. That came back in October 2018 when he refereed our 3-2 away defeat at Wycombe Wanderers when the hosts came from 2-0 down to win. There were six yellows and one red in the game with Jordan Clarke and Andy Dales the two cautioned from the Iron. He had previously taken charge of United in pre-season in 2017 when he was still a Level 2A match official, as Scunthorpe lost away at Luton Town.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Salford City on two past occasions. The last came against Stevenage back in February 2020 when the Ammies edged a 1-0 victory. Six cautions were shown on the day. His previous encounter involving the side was in the FA Cup. Across both of the games, he's shown eight yellow cards and no reds.
In 2019-20, he took charge of 29 games, issuing 142 yellow cards and five reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 23 encounters, showing 95 yellows and two red cards.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by David Avent and Thomas Harty, while David Hunt has been appointed as the fourth official.
