United's squad are now back to prepare as they get ready for the new League Two season which gets underway on Saturday, August 7th.
There will be a week-and-a-half of training before the first match of pre-season away at Barton Town on Saturday, July 10th and Cox provided a general overview.
He said: "For me, it's been a really long summer. I managed to get a couple of days off in that time but have been working hard on getting players in, meeting them and their agents. I seem to have been travelling all around the country speaking to players and agents and we've got two over the line now.
"We have a few people coming in tomorrow to train with us, who have good experience that we're looking at.
"The boys (in the squad) have worked really hard at home over the last two weeks, and have sent all the data in. Everything has been done properly and we'll make sure they're up to the standards I expect on fitness, which is a big thing this year. We told the boys to make sure they did it and if they didn't, they wouldn't be able to join in with the ball work and would be running around the fields when they return.
"Everyone has been brilliant really, and have pushed themselves really hard. When they come in on Thursday we'll do testing to make sure everyone's alright and will then get the footballs out straight away.
"The first three days is more about making sure the testing side is right, and that the muscles are right to start training fully. Thursday and Friday will be steady, with Saturday the first really hard session. We'll go really hard on them, and they'll have Sunday off before a full week of double sessions next week pushing to get ready for our first pre-season game.
"We've got some really tough, interesting games in the middle of pre-season. It's what we need and we want to be tested, and to make sure we're raring to go, fit and organised.
"Hopefully all being well we'll have the fans back in getting behind us. We've had a couple of difficult seasons but now's the time to push on, get everyone behind us on a positive note and start pushing ourselves forward again."
