Martin Coy will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Salford City on Tuesday.
The County Durham-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 19th game of the campaign and his sixth in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is his fourth in the EFL as the man in the middle.
His first game of the campaign involved the Trotters as he oversaw their Carabao Cup exit against Bradford City at the University of Bolton Stadium. He issued one yellow card. Meanwhile, his latest game in the middle was on Saturday as he took charge of the FA Cup Round Three match between Huddersfield Town and Plymouth Argyle, which the Pilgrims won 3-2. He showed two cautions on the day.
He's taken charge of the Iron on six previous occasions, the most recent back in November when the side were edged out 1-0 against Bolton. No cards were issued. All six of his previous matches involving Scunthorpe have come at the Sands Venue Stadium, so Tuesday will be his seventh trip. In 2017-18, he oversaw four United games, but didn't referee the side last season. In total, across the six games, he's shown 11 yellow cards and one red.
Up until Tuesday, he's refereed the Ammies on two previous occasions, with both coming last season. Both have resulted in 1-0 wins for the home side and he's issued one caution in each game.
Last season, he took charge of 27 games, issuing 78 yellow cards and four reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 18 encounters, showing 50 yellows and four reds.
On Tuesday, Coy will be assisted by Christopher Ward and Wayne Grunnill, while Richard Wigglesworth has been appointed as the fourth official.
