The 19-year-old joined on loan on Transfer Deadline Day to become our latest new addition and told iFollow Iron: "I will come here and work my hardest to try and play every week."
He added: "As soon as I knew about the interest from Scunthorpe, I was delighted and just wanted to get it over the line as quickly as I could.
"Just to play men's football and get experience under my belt is massive for me, but hopefully I can do well.
"The gaffer and Cliff know the Scunny manager and coaching staff really well, and were telling me about the way they play football and how it suits my type of play, playing out from the back, getting the ball, being aggressive and they are parts of the game I enjoy.
"They said it's a good club, I'll benefit from it, everyone is decent and I can't wait really."
Wood made his first senior appearance for the Tigers on the final day of last season at Charlton Athletic as the side celebrated promotion back to the second tier. He would complete a celebratory couple of days by penning a new two-year contract, with a further year’s option, at the club soon after.
He has also made one substitute appearance for the team so far this season, coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic in the Carabao Cup earlier this month.
He continued: "When you get a taste of first team football, you just want more and more. The minute I came back in pre-season, all I wanted to do was go out and get experience of playing men's football in front of fans. I'm delighted to be here."
Wood played a part in City's pre-season friendly win over the Iron last month, and said: "To come here and play in an established league in games that mean something, where you have to get points, makes a massive difference.
"Pre-season has been good and I learnt a lot from the coaching staff at Hull, while getting a few minutes under my belt. I'm feeling good.
"My type of game is just in front of the back four, getting on the ball and being a ball player in midfield, while also doing the other side of the game like getting in tackles and working hard on the defensive side.
"I have had a chance to speak to the gaffer, and he's really nice. He explained what he wants, what his ambitions are for this season and what he wants to do, and that matches my aspirations too. I want to be the best I can be, and hopefully we can do well this season."
