Oh well; that’s seemingly it then. I won’t need to write any more notes and file them as “19-20” (should the EFL decide that the 46 game 2019-20 League Two season is over)! I’ll have to find a new title for next season – whenever that is. But of course I won’t really need to for a while, as there will be no spectator participation for a good while.

When we look back on this season, I’m sure we won’t remember much about the football – after all, it’s really been nothing spectacular, and from a purely playing point of view, very little sticks in the mind, apart from a few very good goals. What of course we will all remember about the 2019-20 season is how it ended in League Two.

There will be much written and said in the future about what might have been done differently in this country with the over-playing and down-playing of various points of view. There is still much discussion (and argument?) about how promotion and relegation in the EFL should proceed, but one thing I can guarantee is that when it’s all sorted, some clubs will not be happy, while others will be delighted. Fortunately, Scunthorpe United are not a cub affected by either consideration.

When will next season start? We don’t know. What will it look like? We don’t know. What we do know is that we’ll still be here, supporting the club we love.
