The Iron survived numerous scares before emerging as victors in the Round of 128 match against Charlton Athletic in the FIFA Ultimate Quaran-Team tournament.
United conceded a last minute equaliser in the first game to draw 1-1 after Kevin van Veen had netted to set up a replay, before two technical difficulties threatened to suspend the fixture for tonight.
The first was 0-0 as it approached half-time, while the second saw Scunthorpe turn around a 1-0 deficit in quick succession to lead 3-1 before the game lagged out at 70 minutes.
However, it was third time lucky in the replay sense as a tactical switch on 75 minutes paid dividends with the Iron 1-0 down. George Miller was brought off the bench to restore parity before van Veen netted the winner in the final minute of the game.
United streamed the game on their brand new Twitch channel, with a total of 4,700 views during the streaming session. Concurrent views peaked at over 600.
The side will learn their Round of 64 opponents in due course.
