FIFA Ultimate Quaran-Team: Iron to face FC Emmen in Round of 64

24 March 2020

The Iron have been drawn at home to face FC Emmen in the Round of 64 in the FIFA Ultimate Quaran-Team tournament.

The Iron survived numerous scares before emerging as victors in the Round of 128 match against Charlton Athletic last time out.

United streamed the game on their brand new Twitch channel, with a total of 4,700 views during the streaming session. Concurrent views peaked at over 600 as George Miller and Kevin van Veen netted in the 2-1 win against the Championship outfit to set up a Round of 64 tie.

Meanwhile, our opponents were one of two teams with the biggest victory margin in the first round, smashing their opponents 10-0.

That did come over two legs though, with Vale losing the home tie 4-0 before being embarrassed for a second time in a 6-0 scoreline.

The Eridivisie side didn't get out of second gear as they brushed aside Scunthorpe's League Two opponents, with "Drentinho94" playing for the Dutch team.

United will need to be on top form to make the last-32 of the competition.

FAQS

Console? PS4

Can we watch? We will once again be live on Twitch.

Who is playing for the Iron? We will be represented by Scunthorpe-born gamer Mark Love. Mark is fired up and ready to go after linking our Twitch with his account and is looking forward to helping our Quaran-Team get as far as we can.

N.B. We did originally aspire to have an Iron player take part but quite a few who expressed an interest are on Xbox, not PS4, while some couldn't guarantee being available for each of the round parameters.

Can clubs change their competitor? No, we’d like teams to use the same player throughout the tournament, unless a valid reason can be given.

DONATE

Please visit the Just Giving page to donate.

We are thankful to everyone who has already been so kind during this difficult period. Your money will help to raise vital funding for EFL clubs who are going to have massive financial struggles (as of course will many industries across the world) during this time of fixture postponement. With no match day income for the foreseeable future football clubs are struggling and things will only get worse.

If this cause can play a small way for clubs going during an unprecedented time, then it would be an amazing force for good. 75% of money raised will be given to the EFL within 28 days.

Secondly, the remaining 25% will be split between for two very worthy causes. One is the EFL’s chosen charity ‘MIND’ (219830), and secondly in funding the all-important COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fundraiser by WHO.
