Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce academy first-year scholar Harry Baker has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The local defender, who has been on the Iron’s books since Under-8 level, has been rewarded for his hard work and development over that time, signing a two-and-a-half year contact which acknowledges the remaining time on his existing scholarship.
Baker, 17, from Winterton, joined the club in 2011 and has so far this season played all but a minute of the Under-18s’ games this season and most recently made his first competitive start for the Under-23s against Peterborough, netting a goal in the 3-1 win.
He will continue his development within the Academy and United’s Under-23s set-ups for the remainder of this season and throughout the 2020-21 campaign.
