The Iron's Under-18s take on Mansfield Town at home in the Youth Alliance League this Tuesday (1pm kick-off).

The game will be played at Appleby Frodingham's home ground at Brumby Hall, DN16 1AA, and we'll have live coverage on the Academy Twitter site, in addition to a report and reaction from the fixture.

SCENE-SETTER

United's Under-18s haven't had a fixture for over two weeks, with their last game seeing them defeat Bradford City 2-1 at home on February 1st.

Dan Gallimore opened the scoring before they were pegged back, However, Levi Gallimore notched an 89th minute winner to seal victory in what was their third game in seven days.

Harry Jessop, Finley Shrimpton, Charlie Barks and Cameron Wilson were on the bench for the Under-23s at West Bromwich Albion last Thursday, while Barks, Wilson, Luca Chadli started in fixtures for the same side a week prior.
 
The weekend's home game against Burton Albion fell victim to the weather.

Following postponements, the Iron sit second in the Youth Alliance League and seven points behind league leaders Doncaster Rovers, but have four games in hand on their local rivals. A win against the Stags will open up the gap between the two sides to eight points, with United also holding a game in hand over their opposition.
 
Rotherham United won again at the weekend as they collected seven points from nine in a week, cutting the gap to just a point with Scunthorpe. All other games in the division did not take place.
