Green: Glad to be back training and in a routine

14 August 2020

Following two weeks of pre-season training now, forward Devarn Green is ready to kick on.

Joining Scunthorpe United on Transfer Deadline Day in January, the former Stockport County man made a small number of first team appearances before the season came to a premature end in March.

On his debut against Port Vale in February, he set up a goal for midfielder Alex Gilliead after coming on as a substitute.

“It’s good to be back, getting our fitness up and being with the lads getting ready for the start of the season,” he told iFollow Iron.

Talking about the imposed break due to the Coronavirus, he explains what it has been like for the last five months: “Very frustrating, but you’ve got to deal with it like everyone has. We stick to doing what we can do, keep fit and do the best we can away from the training ground.

“That’s life. You’ve got to deal with it and bounce back. Hopefully I’ll get my fitness up and hit the season running."

Despite the socially distanced start last week, Green explained that there hasn’t been an issue with it, he said: “I think it’s normal for all of us as we’re just glad to be back training and getting a routine."
