Thomas makes first senior start for Wales

21 March 2019

On-loan Iron attacker George Thomas made his first senior start for Wales in their 1-0 International Challenge Match win over Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes as they won 1-0 through a last-gasp goal from Ben Woodburn in Wrexham.

During the game, the on-loan Leicester City man had the ball in the net as he flicked the ball home, but it was ruled out for offside.

It’s his third senior cap for the country, after attaining his first back in May 2018 and his second came as a substitute against the Republic of Ireland back in October.
