The two goals at the ABAX Stadium were scored by striker Lee Novak, and Ojo felt it was a solid defensive from the team to get the victory.
The Belgian midfielder spoke to iFollow Iron after the game.
He said: “We are really happy with that. We needed the points and we knew it was going to be a tough game, but against a decent team the luck was on our side.
“I wasn’t in the game in the first-half because it was a bit scrappy, but I am a team player and we got the win so it is good. Happy New Year for us. I’m happy with the three points.”
The 27-year-old praised the side’s defensive performance, which prevented one of the league’s best team scorers from hitting the back of the net.
“The dressing room is euphoric, especially as it is two clean sheets in a row,” said Ojo. “Throughout the whole team we defended well.”
Ojo also hinted that there was a bit of good fortune for the Iron’s goals in the match.
He said: “We were happy that the luck fell on our side because in the last game there was a goalie mistake and against Peterborough it was a mistake from a player that tried to kick it back to their goalkeeper.
“Sometimes you need a bit of luck and we are in a situation where we needed it.”
The Iron have now won back-to-back games in Sky Bet League One and Ojo stressed the importance of trying to build on this form.
He said: “It is really important, especially as the clubs below us in the table are winning as well. We are closing the gap, so if we can get a few more wins we will be looking at mid-table again.
“That is what we want and we will look further on from that.”
Next up is Coventry City at Glanford Park and Ojo concluded by saying: “We’re going for another win of course.”
