The East Yorkshire-based official will take charge of his 16th game of the season and his sixth in Sky Bet League Two. Boyeson is one of the EFL's longest serving officials.
On the opening day of the campaign, he refereed Crewe's 2-1 away win at Oldham Athletic, showing three yellow cards. Meanwhile his latest fixture was on Saturday when he oversaw the 1-1 draw between Bradford City and Salford City. There were no cards issued in the game.
Boyeson last took charge of an Iron game back in December 2018 when the side lost to Bradford City away from home. Six yellow cards were shown in the game, along with a dismissal for Cameron Burgess.
He's taken charge of nine United fixtures over the course of 17 years - his first back on Boxing Day in 2002. He's shown a total of 36 yellow cards and one red in those nine games.
Meanwhile, he's taken charge of the Saddlers on 18 occasions, most recently earlier in the season in their 3-2 home defeat against Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup. In total, across the 18 games, he's shown 38 yellow cards and two reds.
In 2018-19, he took charge of 36 games, issuing 115 yellow cards and six reds. So far this campaign, he's shown 38 yellows and three reds in 15 encounters.
On Thursday, Boyeson will be assisted by Wayne Grunnill and Paul Lister, while David Benton has been appointed as the fourth official.
