Seb Stockbridge will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Bradford City on Saturday.

The Tyne-based official will travel to Glanford Park for his 35th game of the campaign and 11th in Sky Bet League One. The current campaign is Stockbridge's sixth in the EFL.

His first game of the campaign was a League Two affair between Notts County and Colchester United on the opening day of the season. That encounter ended 0-0 - a game in which he showed six yellow cards.

Meanwhile, his most recent game came in midweek when he issued just one caution in Accrington Stanley's away win at Doncaster Rovers.

He's taken charge of Scunthorpe matches on no fewer than 11 previous occasions. His last encounter involving United came back in January when the side got all three points against Fleetwood Town courtesy of an own goal 14 minutes from time. He showed two yellow cards on that day - both to home players.

Of those 11 games, seven have come at Glanford Park, so Saturday will be his eighth appointment in the middle at the stadium. In those previous games, he's shown a total of 45 yellow cards and one red.

Stockbridge has taken charge of six Bradford City games with his most recent back in October. The Bantams were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline against Oldham Athletic at the Northern Commercials Stadium in the Checkatrade Trophy. He issued four cautions on the night. In total, he's shown 26 yellow cards and one red in the six Bradford games he's been involved in.

Incidentally, he has taken charge of this fixture once before, back in November 2015 when Bradford won 2-0 - his only previous appointment with the Bantams as the away side. Four yellow cards were shown, with Neal Bishop and Tommy Rowe the Iron's recipients.

In 2017-18, he took charge of 41 games, issuing 143 yellow cards and six reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 34 encounters, showing 103 yellows and three red cards.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Lee Freeman and Duncan Street, while Alix Pashley has been appointed as the fourth official.
