Ross Joyce will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Rochd.
The Cleveland-based official arrives at Glanford Park for his eighth game of the campaign and his fifth in Sky Bet League One.
His first game of the campaign was Barnsley's 4-0 victory over Oxford United on the opening day of the season at Oakwell. His latest encounter was on Tuesday night at Lincoln City in the Checkatrade Trophy in which the Imps lost 2-1 to Mansfield Town. He produced eight yellow cards in that match and a red card for former United midfielder Michael O'Connor for violent conduct.
He's taken charge of the Iron on four occasions in total, most recently on Boxing Day last year when United registered a win at Blackpool. Incidentally, one of those past fixtures came against Rochdale. In the four games, he's shown 14 yellow cards and no reds.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Rochdale on seven occasions - their most recent being a goalless draw against Milton Keynes Dons. He's shown two red cards in fixtures involving Dale, both coincidentally going to former Scunthorpe defender Niall Canavan.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 41 games, issuing 150 yellow cards and two red. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in seven encounters, showing 25 yellows and one red.
On Saturday, Joyce will be assisted by Matthew Jones and Graeme Fyvie, while Akil Howson has been appointed as the fourth official.
