Andy Haines will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Shrewsbury Town.
The Tyne and Wear-based official will travel to Glanford Park for his ninth game of the campaign and his fourth in Sky Bet League One.
His first game of the campaign was Walsall's 2-1 home victory over Plymouth Argyle in which he showed five yellow cards. Meanwhile, his latest encounter came last weekend in League Two as he issued six cautions in Mansfield Town's 2-1 home defeat against Exeter City. Perhaps unsurprisingly, one of those yellow-carded was former Iron midfielder Neal Bishop.
He's taken charge of the Iron on 17 occasions in total, most recently in December 2017 when the side drew 2-2 with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park where he issued four cautions. His last visit to North Lincolnshire was only six weeks prior, as Scunthorpe beat Northampton Town 1-0 in their FA Cup replay. In those 17 games, he showed a total of 51 yellows and no reds.
Of those encounters involving United, 15 of them have come at Glanford Park, so Saturday will be Haines' 16th appointment with the whistle at the stadium over the last decade.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Shrewsbury Town on 11 occasions - their most recent being a slender 1-0 defeat to already-relegated side Milton Keynes Dons on the final day of the regular season in 2017-18 as the Shrews prepared for the play-offs. In those games, he's shown 25 yellow cards and one red.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 33 games, issuing 99 yellow cards and six red. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in eight encounters, showing 27 yellows and two reds.
On Saturday, Haines will be assisted by Wayne Grunnill and David Plowright, while Alan Clayton has been appointed as the fourth official.
