Scunthorpe United are delighted to announce the signing of striker Stephen Humphrys on a season-long loan from Premier League side Fulham.
The 20-year-old trained with his new Iron team-mates for the first time on Friday and could appear in Saturday’s opening friendly of pre-season at Winterton Rangers.
The forward joined the Cottagers from Bury at the start of the 2013-14 season. He has been a regular scorer for Fulham at Under-16, Under-18 and PL2 level.
Humphrys’ fantastic goalscoring form in the first half of the 2016-17 PL2 campaign saw him rewarded with a senior debut against Derby County in December, and he played in the game against Brighton a couple of weeks later too.
He joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan for the second half of that season, while he then signed for Rochdale in the same division for a similar spell in the second half of the last campaign.
He memorably scored an equaliser for the Dale in their FA Cup fifth round replay against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
