He told iFollow Iron about the week in Obertraun: “It was really good!

"It was a great experience and it was a chance for me to get to know the lads a bit more. We played a few games out there so it was nice to get going again having not played for a while.”

Speaking about starting both games, he said: “It was a great experience especially against some different teams who we are not used to playing. I was able to get to know all the lads and it was good to be able to play with them because I haven’t played with them before.”

He added about the importance of getting to know all the lads: “It’s important. It’s different, I’m used to being around the youth team lads and now I’m up here with all the new ones but yeah it’s definitely good to get to know everyone.”

The Iron are back at Glanford Park this week and are looking to build on preparations for the season as they take on Nottingham Forest on Wednesday in the first of two friendlies on home soil.

“It will be a good test for us because we haven’t played a bigger club than us yet this season for friendlies," he continued.

"They have some good players, they’ve signed Michael Dawson as well so yeah they will be a tough team for sure.”

The former academy midfielder is excited about the prospect of getting more minutes at Glanford Park following his debut last year: “I can’t wait! Last year it was a really good experience for me with it being my first ever game at Glanford Park for the first team.”

At just 18 years old, the teenager is looking forward to playing alongside the first team next season and said about his aspirations for the upcoming campaign: “I want to maybe get a few minutes, play a few games and just see where it goes really.”
