Summer signing Andy Dales has enjoyed the Iron’s pre-season trip to Austria so far and he is excited at the prospect of more minutes against SV Wals-Grünau on Saturday afternoon.
Dales featured in the final 20 minutes of United’s 0-0 draw against SV Seekirchen when he replaced Olufela Olomola.
The 23-year-old told iFollow Iron: “I got 20 minutes on Wednesday and even in those 20 minutes, with the heat here, made it tough. However, I’m really looking forward to the next game and hope to impress.”
Summarising the pre-season camp, the attacking midfielder said: “It’s been a really good week, but hard work as I’m sure these pre-season tours are.
“It has been the first one I have been on for four years now. We didn’t go on a pre-season tour at Mickleover, so it is a bit different. I have really enjoyed it.
“It is probably the fittest I have been in those four years because we are training every day. I’m getting used to it and I’m getting better and fitter.”
Dales added that the trip to Austria has been hugely beneficial to helping him settle in: “Coming here, you are with the lads for 24 hours a day so you get to know them really well and I have settled in well.”
