Striker Ivan Toney is looking to continue where he left off, as he seeks to score the goals that will help get United promoted.
The 21-year-old forward, who has signed on loan from Newcastle United until the end of the season for the second time, netted seven times in 11 starts during his stay with the club last term and told iFollow Iron he ‘can’t wait to get started’.
ON THE MOVE…
IT: It’s a great club and there was disappointment last year in not winning the play-offs. Hopefully we can do better this season, and I can’t wait to get started.
ON MANAGER GRAHAM ALEXANDER'S INFLUENCE...
IT: The manager has played a big part. I know how he plays and how the team plays. Hopefully, this season is a positive one for us. There are still some of the same players and he’s made it stronger by bringing a few in. We’re looking forward to getting it going again and trying to get where we need to be.

ON HIS LOAN STAY AT WIGAN...
IT: It was a great stepping stone. It’s not been too bad, though I thought it could have gone better. They’re a great club and very strong at the moment, but my main focus is here now and hopefully we can catch them or overtake them. I want to get going and score goals for Scunthorpe.
ON MAKING UP FOR LAST YEAR'S PLAY-OFF HEARTBREAK BY GOING UP...
IT: Nobody wants that disappointment again, so we all want to push on now and go up to the Championship.
ON POTENTIALLY MAKING HIS SECOND DEBUT FOR THE CLUB AT PORTSMOUTH...
IT: Only around the corner! I can’t wait to get out on the pitch with the boys and hopefully get three points on Saturday.
