17 February 2018The 21 year-old went off with cramp towards the end of the game, but he is raring to go on Saturday.
Speaking to iFollow Iron, he previewed the Northampton test and spoke about how he wants to continue to play.
ON STARTING AGAINST PETERBOROUGH…
LS: It was a bit of a shock, but I thought I grew into the game. I loved being out there. Any chance I get to play I am all for. Obviously, I was a bit unfit from not playing a lot of games recently so I am just trying to get back to full fitness. I came off with cramp as well at the end of the game, which I didn’t really want to do.
ON THE 2-2 DRAW…
LS: It was a solid point, but I felt we had chances and (Matt) Gilks has pulled off some good saves. I felt like that there was only one team that wanted to win in the second-half and I think that they were just trying to get us on the counter attack. As soon as we took the kick-off, they sat deep. We were the team pushing for the win. I thought we played well and it was a good team performance. We didn’t get the three points, which we are all a bit disappointed with.
ON WANTING TO KEEP HIS PLACE IN THE TEAM…
LS: I want to stay in the team now, get some more match fitness and get a run of games together.
ON NORTHAMPTON…
LS: I think they are a good team and have got a lot of good players. Obviously, Kevin van Veen has joined them so we know his strengths and his weaknesses. Hopefully we will do well.
ON THE FEELING IN THE CHANGING ROOM…
LS: We are all confident and have been confident throughout the season that we can get the job done and finish as high as we can. It is just about putting the points on the table. I think we are one of the better teams in this league.
ON HIS SEASON OVERALL…
LS: I have loved it. Playing for my hometown club means a lot to me.
