Captain Rory McArdle knows there has to be a big reaction from the players following the Iron’s defeat against Fleetwood Town.
After the match, McArdle spoke to iFollow Iron. He said: “It is extremely disappointing. No-one wants to lose football matches, but the manner in which we conceded the goals is not something that is expected of us.
“It was very poor from our point of the view and we never gave ourselves the chance to get back in the game. It was far too easy for them and it is something we need to look at and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
The Iron are back at Glanford Park on Saturday against Barnsley and the defender wants a response from the team.
The 31-year-old said: “The reaction has got to be massive and that starts in training, making sure that everyone realises the manner of the performance.
“I’m sure everyone will have a chat about things, have their own opinions and everyone has to take that on board.
“We need to make sure everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet, everyone is going in the right direction and that is the thing that is going to get us a performance that will warrant us a result on Saturday.
“We all have to take responsibility for it. It is all about dusting ourselves down, making sure the recovery is done right and that the lads are ready for the game on Saturday.”
