Funso Ojo hailed the 2-1 victory over Peterborough United as an important one.

Speaking to iFollow Iron ahead of United’s trip to face Oldham Athletic on Saturday, the 26-year-old looked ahead to the weekend and assessed last week’s victory.

ON THE WIN OVER PETERBOROUGH…
FO:
We needed those points to keep the top six in sight, so it was an important win.

ON HIS CELEBRATIONS WHEN JOSH MORRIS SCORED THE WINNER…
FO:
It was late in the game and I was so relieved. We really needed the points and I was so happy with the win.

ON HIS PASS WHICH LED TO LEE NOVAK’S LEVELLER…
FO:
In the way we play, we have the winger or right full-back on that side so there is always an option and space there. I didn’t even have to look, I just played it, and Haks (Hakeeb Adelakun) was there to deliver a great cross so I’m happy with that.

ON BUILDING ON THE VICTORY…
FO:
A lot of the lads have said how it’s a bit of a strange league this year, but there are plenty of teams around us in the league and a few wins can take us further up. At the end of the day it’s about results.

ON HOW HE’S FINDING ENGLISH FOOTBALL…
FO:
Every game has been tough so far, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m waking up with a smile and am happy to come to the club. I have no regrets about joining Scunthorpe. My family asked me last week if I was coming back for the holidays (Christmas and New Year). I just sent them a picture of the schedule! We have games on December 23rd, 26th, 30th and January 1st. That will be something for me to adjust to, but I’m here to play football so I’m happy with those games. It’s my work, you won’t hear me complaining.
