Christopher Kavanagh will referee the Iron’s Sky Bet League One play-off semi-final second leg fixture at home to Millwall on Sunday.
So far this season, Kavanagh has officiated 39 matches and, in those, he’s produced 128 yellow and three red cards.
The man from Lancashire refereed 32 games throughout the 2015-16 campaign, cautioning 114 players and dismissing three.
He last refereed a Scunthorpe match back in 2015, when United faced Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He’ll be joined on Sunday by assistant referees John Flynn and Mark Russell, with Andrew Madley taking up the role of fourth official.
