Congratulations to our Medical and Sports Science department

30 May 2017

The club would like to congratulate our Medical and Sports Science team who scooped the League One Medical and Science team of the year at the annual Football Medical Association awards.

The event, which was held over the course of the weekend, saw medical departments from across the EFL come together, with the accolades awarded for best practise across the divisions.

Head of Medical and Sports Science Chris Burton spoke in a programme interview before the awards took place.

ON BEING NOMINATED...

CB: It's good recognition for the department to be nominated for the award. We work hard, and we try to cover every angle. I'd like to think we've played our part in a successful season, and we'll continue to do our jobs to the best of our abilities.

ON THE SUPPORT FOR THE DEPARTMENT...

CB: We like to get a clear diagnosis straight away. We access the best consultants as well, which is a credit to the chairman and the chief executive, because they allow us to do our jobs properly. Over the years I've built up some good contacts with the best consultants in the country.

The club would also like to congratulate Sports Massage Therapist Kev Hornsby on an individual basis as he entered the "21 Club' following 21 years working in professional football.
