Buoyed by Christmas victories over Southend United and Blackpool, Scunthorpe will be seeking to continue their good form at Ewood Park.
With Rory McArdle out through a groin injury, Goode is enjoying his run in the side and told iFollow Iron how he hopes he’s done enough to keep his place.
ON THE WIN AT BLACKPOOL…
CG: We started really well and got off to a great start. They pegged us back with a goal just before half-time and that made it difficult. Again, we came out at half-time, we started really well and defended very well in the end. It was a great result. They were very direct in the end and in the last half hour everything was getting sent to our heads. We knew that kind of performance would be needed. In the end, we got the job done. We started really well and then again in the second-half. We need to build on that and continue for the whole half.
ON THE TEST AHEAD AT BLACKBURN…
CG: It’s going to be a big game, especially at the top of the table. They’re on a good run of form but we’ll have a look at them and see how we can beat them. They have some good players who have played at a high level, but we’re on form too and we’ll try and get a good result there.
ON THE INCENTIVE OF POSSIBLY CLIMBING UP TO SECOND IN THE LEAGUE…
CG: We always look at the next game and never too far ahead, so we’ll focus on this one and see where we are after.
ON HIS RUN IN THE TEAM…
CG: It’s felt a long time since I had a good run so I’m looking to continue it and stay in for a long time now. We have a lot of competition in my position here but I’m going to have to perform to stay in. Hopefully I’m doing that.
