GETTING TO FLEETWOOD TOWN

19 February 2016

The Iron hope to make it five wins in a row when when they travel to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

Here is a guide to their Highbury home...

Highbury Stadium…
With the completed revamp of the ground to match the club's recent success of climbing the leagues, Highbury Stadium has a current capacity of 5,311 with 2,701 seats.

Away fans are placed in the Percy Ronson terrace at one end of the stadium, with the capacity at 621 and 210 for the Highbury side standing.

The club have recently improved the away facilities by putting in a snack bar and new toilet block. There are also 300 seats available for away supporters in the Parkside Stand.

Due to the good view and new facilities, Highbury Stadium is considered a good away day for fans who like to visit a new ground.

Getting there…
The journey is likely to take around two hours and a half and the best route to take is to the M180 from Scunthorpe to the M18 and then onto the M62.

Continue along to the M60. At junction 15 exit onto the M61 towards the M6 N/Preston/Wigan/Bolton.

Then take the exit onto the M6 and then continue onto the M55, following signs for A6/Preston/Garstang/Blackpool/Fleetwood. At junction 3, take the A585 exit to Fleetwood. On the outskirts of Fleetwood, there’s a roundabout with Blackpool and Fylde College on your left.

Continue onto Fleetwood but take the first left after the roundabout onto Copse Road. Continue on for a mile until you pass Fleetwood Fire Station and then turn left onto Radcliffe Road (which appears you’re going back on yourself but in parallel to Copse Road). Take the next right onto Stanley Road and the stadium is at the end of the road on your left.

By train...
There is no railway station in Fleetwood itself. The closest is at Poulton-le-Fylde, which is just over five miles away. However it is more likely that fans will head to Blackpool North station which is around seven miles away. A taxi from the station to Fleetwood will cost you the best part of £20, which may be okay if there is a group of you. For smaller groups it may be better to catch a bus to Fleetwood, Service numbers 1 and 14, run from Blackpool. Train times, prices and other details can be accessed by clicking here.

Parking…
There is no official parking for away supporters at the stadium. However, there is street parking available in the surround area.
