Scunthorpe United can confirm Sunday's Promotion Final encounter against Chester is now sold out!
The Attis Arena will host the showdown against the Seals, who beat Kidderminster Harriers 2-1 in the promotion semi-final last weekend, after overcoming Buxton in the play-off eliminator the midweek prior.
The ticket office is currently taking a reserve list for any tickets returned, with supporters requested to email sufctickets@scunthorpe-united.co.uk with their name, contact number and request. Due to the number of requests, our ticketing team will only contact you back should any vacancies become available.
After consultation with the police and National Highways, the northbound carriageway on the M181 will reopen at 1pm on Sunday 18 May for incoming football traffic and the southbound carriageway will reopen at 6pm to let football traffic leave Scunthorpe via the motorway.
A full closure will then be back in place from 8pm until Monday 19 May at 6am.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We have been listening to the concerns of local residents, communities and businesses in relation to the closure of the M181 this weekend. Unfortunately, road closures are planned months in advance by all the teams involved and it is not always possible to know what events may be happening in the future, so it is unfortunate that the closure for this National Highways scheme has fallen on a busy weekend for Scunthorpe.
“We have been in talks with National Highways, the police and the contractor on site about issues caused by the closure on Sunday due to Scunthorpe United’s play off match and the Big Green Scunthorpe 10K and have been able to get the road reopened temporarily to allow football traffic to pass through, which will alleviate traffic in and around Scunthorpe.”
Scunthorpe United regrets to inform supporters we have today been made aware of a road closure which will affect ingress and egress to the Attis Arena for this Sunday's Promotional Final against Chester.
A full road closure will be in place on the M181 in both directions from Friday 16 May at 8pm until Monday 19 May at 6am. A diversion will be in place throughout this period. Once re-opened, the M181 will be reduced to one lane in either direction.
Supporters are asked to arrive at the Attis Arena well ahead of kick-off to avoid the inevitable delays this closure will cause.
Scunthorpe United will continue to work with the authorities to gain further advice over the closure, and are seeking alternative parking arrangements within the town to help alleviate the flow of traffic around Gallagher Retail Park and the stadium.
If we have any further information, this page will be updated.
