Scunthorpe United Football Club is delighted to announce the return of Iron Aid, with a Scunthorpe United Legends side set to take on a Manchester United Legends XI in a special pre-season fixture at the Attis Arena on Sunday, August 2nd (4pm kick-off) as part of a wider event with more details to be released in due course.

The highly anticipated event, organised in partnership with Nor-Lait Promotions, will bring together some of the most iconic names from both clubs' histories for a memorable afternoon of football, nostalgia and fundraising.

Iron supporters will once again have the opportunity to see former fan favourites pull on the claret and blue shirt, while a star-studded Manchester United Legends squad promises to attract supporters from across the region.

The match marks the return of the popular Iron Aid concept, which in 2024, as part of the club's 125h anniversary celebrations, raised significant funds for local charities and community causes, whilst creating unforgettable occasions for supporters of all ages.

Scunthorpe United General Manager James Moody said: "We are thrilled to be bringing Iron Aid back to the Attis Arena. The first event as part of our 125th anniversary a couple of years ago exceeded all expectations, and was a massive success, and this year we're hoping to go even bigger and better with linking up with Nor-Lait Promotions and Manchester United.

"We are looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic occasion as we also link up with our returning front-of-shirt sponsors British Steel with much more news to follow, and former Iron stars to be announced as they're confirmed over the coming weeks."

A spokesperson for Nor-Lait Promotions added: "We are proud to be working alongside Scunthorpe United to deliver the return of Iron Aid. The appetite for legends matches continues to grow, and bringing Manchester United Legends to the Attis Arena will create a truly special event for supporters."

Tickets for the encounter will be available all around the ground, and will be priced as follows:

ADULT: £15
CONCESSION (65+): £8
UNDER-18s: £8
FAMILY TICKET (comprising two adults and two U18s): £40

Further details, including the confirmed legends line-ups, sponsorship and hospitality packages, will be announced in due course, with additional mascot opportunities and more all becoming available in due course.

Supporters are encouraged to keep an eye on the club's official channels for the latest updates with much more to follow about the wider event on Sunday, August 2nd. It's not a day you'll want to miss!
