Work commenced on Wednesday to resurface the main pitch at the Attis Arena in preparation for the 2026-27 season.
Usually taking place towards the end of May following an extensive period of pitch hiring, that period has been curtailed in order to allow the extensive programme of work to commence early, which will see the existing surface removed and replaced as part of a significant investment into improving the playing surface following challenges experienced over the past two seasons.
In addition to the resurfacing works, improvements are also being made to the stadium’s irrigation system to support the long-term quality and consistency of the pitch throughout the season.
The club is also in the process of appointing a dedicated first team grounds person, bringing the responsibility and day-to-day management of the pitch back in-house as part of its long-term commitment to improving standards at the Attis Arena.
Club officials, alongside specialist contractors, have moved quickly following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season to allow maximum growing and recovery time throughout the summer months, with the project designed to ensure the pitch is in a significantly better condition than in recent years.
The resurfacing project forms part of the club’s continued commitment to improving facilities both on and off the pitch, with the aim of providing an elite playing surface for players, staff and supporters throughout the upcoming season.
Further updates on the progress of the works will be provided across the club’s official channels during the close season.
