Scunthorpe United is looking to recruit a reliable, confident, and personable Kitchen Porter.
This hands-on role involves preparing and serving light breakfasts for players and staff, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen and dining area, and occasionally assisting with small errands. The role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.
Approximately 20 hours per week plus matchday duties as required.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve simple, nutritious breakfasts for players ahead of training sessions.
- Ensure the kitchen and breakfast area are kept clean, well-stocked, and orderly at all times.
- Clean and clear all areas promptly after meals.
- Assist our hospitality and events team to prepare rooms for events.
- Perform occasional errands such as collecting supplies or small shopping tasks.
- Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with players and staff through confident day-to-day interactions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters related to the club and its players.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative when required.
Person Specification
- Warm, confident, and approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
- Trustworthy, discreet, and professional – confidentiality is essential.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing duties independently.
- Flexible and available to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional evenings in line with team schedules.
- Full, valid driving licence required.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable but not essential).
- DBS check (desirable but not essential).
