Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the contract extension of workhorse midfielder Kian Scales.
Scales has put pen to paper on a deal that extends his stay with the Iron for a further two years, running to the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
Scales originally joined the Iron in the summer of 2023 following the expiration of his contract with boyhood club Bradford City. Despite his young age of 22, the midfielder had a wealth of first team experience following two successful loan spells with fellow National League North side Farsley Celtic.
In his first season as a Scunthorpe player, Scales took the division by storm and impressed supporters with his tireless performances and incredible work rate. So far this campaign he’s repeated that feat by covering more ground than any other Iron player which has played a resulting factor in his more than deserved new deal.
In response to signing his new detail Scales would say: “I’m really pleased, it’s something that’s been going on for a bit of time so I’m just glad that it’s all sorted and now I can get my head down and enjoy my football.”
