Scunthorpe United is delighted to welcome back goalkeeper Maison Campbell on a permanent contract following his departure from National League side York City.
The 20-year-old highly-rated shot stopper joined the Minstermen from Mansfield Town, and arrived at the Attis Arena at the start of December 2023 for a busy festive period as back-up to Ross Fitzsimons.
That loan was extended until the end of the season in January, but the agreement held a 24-hour recall option which was activated in early April by York following an injury to another former United goalkeeper, Rory Watson.
Campbell made two appearances for the Iron last season, assisting in guiding the side to the final of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup in wins over Gainsborough Trinity and Cleethorpes Town.
He becomes the fourth summer addition for Andy Butler’s side, and reported for the first day of pre-season training this morning.
