Tony Daws has been the Academy Manager at Scunthorpe United since 2005 following roles at Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

Daws' professional playing career saw him start at Notts County before a year at Sheffield United. He'd then sign for the Iron in 1987 and enjoy six seasons at the club, entering himself into the top ten all-time Scunthorpe goalscorers before his departure to Grimsby Town in 1993.

He'd play for the Mariners for a season before featuring for Lincoln City, Halifax Town, Scarborough, Altrincham and Bradford Park Avenue before his retirement in 1997.

In 1981/82 he played for Englands U15 side, while he also made an appearance for the U18's side in 1984/85.

After retiring, he took up coaching positions at Sheffield United as part-time Youth Development Officer (1996-2000), before taking roles as Assisant Academy and U19 coach until 2004. He'd then join the Owls for a campaign in 2004 before joining the Iron in 2005.

Daws has also enjoyed caretaker and joint caretaker stints in charge of the first team in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
