Finley Shrimpton was offered his first professional deal during the summer of 2020.

Finley is a local lad who joined the club in November 2017 as an Under-16 after his release from Barnsley.

A midfield player who is comfortable in possession of the ball, he was involved in the youth team in the latter stages of that season and then went on to become a regular during his two seasons as a scholar, also appearing for our Under-23s.

His first season as a professional saw a successful loan spell at non-league side Frickley Athletic, where he won numerous man of the match awards.

Then his second saw him impress in loan spells at Grantham Town and Cleethorpes Town, as he made a total of five first team appearances for the Iron.

Shrimpton added to his appearances at the end of 2022-23 season, with a total of 15 appearances in the following season.
